CALGARY POLICE SERVICE EXCESSIVE ALARM SUSPENSION POLICY:
• 3 or more false alarms within a 12 month period will result in a 30 day suspension.
• 3 or more false alarms within 12 months of serving the previous suspension will result in a 90 day suspension.
• 3 or more false alarms within 12 months of serving the previous suspension will result in a 120 day suspension.
• 3 or more false alarms within 12 months of serving the previous suspension will result in a 6-month suspension.
• 3 or more false alarms within 12 months of serving the previous suspension constitutes legal action (a fine of not more then $10,000.00 and in default of payment to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or both).

CALGARY POLICE SERVICE KEY HOLDER SUSPENSIONS POLICY:
• Key holder refusal to attend is an automatic 30-day suspension which, in some cases does coincide with in an excessive alarm suspension. In this case there will be a 30-day excessive alarm suspension (or which ever one applies) immediately followed by the 30-day key holder-refusal suspension.
• Key holder not available to attend 3 times within 12 months is also a 30-day suspension.

NOTE: When a premise is under suspension, it means the Calgary Police Service will NOT be the first responders to an activated alarm, and will only attend if you or someone else on your behalf has responded and confirmed that an actual break in has occurred.

In the event your alarm is not under suspension the Calgary Police Service also has other higher priority calls and they will get to your alarm when they have the time and resources to do so.
